The majority of Americans have pervasive negative views of women with the AIDS virus<br />
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revise figure 40 percent upwards - at least 56,000 new infections in 2006
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week announced that more Americans are infected with the HIV virus than previously thought. New laboratory technology is now able to detect the disease much sooner. VOA's Melinda Smith has details.
