Elijah Bender was recently diagnosed with Kawasaki disease.<br />He had a fever and a rash all over his body, hallmarks of the illness. The symptoms looked familiar to his parents Andrea Sterline and Stanley Bender.
Elijah Bender was recently diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. He had a fever and a rash all over his body, hallmarks of the illness. The symptoms looked familiar to his parents Andrea Sterline and Stanley Bender.
Some childhood illnesses are difficult to detect. That is true of Kawasaki disease, named after the Japanese physician who first identified it. Left untreated, Kawasaki can be deadly.  

Now a new treatment is being tested for a resistant form of the disease. VOA's Carol Pearson has more.
