Anne
: I bet they do a good job of helping you slam-dunk.
Mike: With these, I can almost touch the rim.
Anne: You don't look like you play a lot of basketball, though.
Mike: Basketball is a state of mind, not just a sport.
Anne: But if you can't play, what's the use of buying the shoes?
Mike: I like Jordan. I even named myself after him.
Anne: Well, I guess you just can't help wanting “to be like Mike.”

★ slam-dunk (v.)
★ rim (n.)
★ state of mind 心境
★ name after... 以…为名
★ can't help...
★ to be like Mike

One of these methods involves taking adult cells from the brain or blood and growing them into new tissues. Another, more complex, technique takes embryo cells and develops them into a wide variety of cell types and tissues.
